The Frederick County Public Schools Transportation Department is asking parents/guardians of all current students to complete a 2017-18 Transportation Form and return it to their child’s school no later than April 21. The information will be used by staff to develop the most effective and efficient bus routes for the 2017-18 school year.

As noted on the 2016-17 School Calendar, the three days of school missed due to inclement weather on March 14-16 will be made up on June 6, 7 and 8. The last day of school is now Thursday, June 8.



CIP UpdateCIP Update
February 23, 2017
During a joint meeting on February 22, the School Board reiterated the need for the Frederick County Board of Supervisors to take some action on the requests for the funding needed to proceed with construction of a fourth high school, the Armel Elementary School addition/renovation and construction of a 12th elementary school. The projects are needed to address overcrowding and future enrollment growth due primarily to residential development.

The FCPS division website homepage received an Award of Excellence from CHESPRA, the Chesapeake Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association, in the 2016 Communications Contest.

The 2017 Youth Volunteer of the Year is James Wood High School senior Jessie Clatterbuck. In this video, Clatterbuck discusses her passion for helping others and how giving back to her community has taught her valuable lessons.
