Preliminary applications for the 2018-19 FCPS preschool program are still being accepted from the families of eligible students residing in the Apple Pie Ridge, Gainesboro, Indian Hollow, Redbud Run and Stonewall elementary school attendance zones. Preliminary applications should be completed and submitted at the preschool student’s base school.

FCPS Finalizes Plans to Install Buzz-in Entry Systems at All School Entrances
03/20/2018
Buzz-in entry systems will be installed prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year at all schools that are not currently equipped with such systems. Due to limited resources, the majority of the project will be funded by delaying some facility maintenance projects the school division had planned to address this year. All school facilities constructed in the future will also include secure entry systems.

School Board Requests Appropriation for Aylor Replacement

The School Board voted February 6 to ask the Frederick County Board of Supervisors to appropriate $52 million to build a Robert E. Aylor Middle School replacement to open in August 2021. The request represents the total cost of the project. Robert E. Aylor Middle School opened in 1969.
