2019 General Assembly

The General Assembly is Virginia’s legislative body. The General Assembly's 2019 Regular Session will convene on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. In even numbered years, the General Assembly session is scheduled to last 60 days. In odd numbered years, the session is scheduled to last 30 days. The General Assembly has the option to extend its session by a maximum of 30 days each year.
