Expanded In-Person Learning Begins April 12
Posted on 03/16/2021
DecorativeDuring its meeting on March 16, the School Board voted to expand in-person learning for students in grades 2-12 from two to four days each week beginning April 12. As a result of this change, students on both the Hybrid A and Hybrid B schedules will begin attending school in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays beginning Monday, April 12, as noted on the updated Hybrid Schedule. The all-distance learning option will also remain in place through the end of the 2020-21 school year. To help accommodate expanded in-person learning, the school division is revising its Health and Safety Plan to reflect updated guidance from the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics allowing the physical distance between students to be reduced from six feet to three feet. All other COVID-19 mitigation strategies, including the use of face coverings, staying home if exhibiting signs of illness and frequent handwashing, remain in place. In the coming weeks, individual schools will be communicating additional details regarding this transition, including any necessary schedule/class changes.
